Displacement art is sub-component of dance choreography…
…which focuses on are universal aspects of all movable objects.
1) Displacement (Moving Point A to Point B)
The art comes from the relation of the objects as they move.
The art comes from the structures they form.
The art comes from the acceleration and rotation.
All done in relation to music.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Displacement art is the oldest art form and yet the next wave. The Big Bang could be considered the first work of displacement art. As matter dispersed itself throughout the universe, objects accelerated, rotated and moved in relation to each other. We can still see this today thanks to advanced telescopes. We are still banging.
But even in earthly terms, displacement art has been evident since the evolution of gathering animals. We have all been mesmerized by the migration of birds or the seemingly coordinated dance of a school of fish. Displacement art is like this apparently simple, yet complex beauty.
